Schnellboot S-100 is the collective name for a class of German torpedo boats from the Second World War. Units of this type were built in the years 1943-1944. Their length was approx. 34.9 m, with a standard displacement of approx. 93 tons. The maximum speed was 42-43 knots. The armament of units of this type varied widely, but most often consisted of 2 533 mm torpedo tubes with four torpedoes, 3 or 4 20 mm cannons, and a single 37 mm or 40 mm cannon.

The German Navy was working intensively on the development of torpedo boats already during World War I, and this work - slowed down by the defeat in 1918 - was continued at the turn of the 1920s and 1930s. Their fruit was the appearance in 1930 of the first modern, for that time, S-1 torpedo boat, and a year later (1931) the production of S-2 class units (5 units in total). Further, quite long, but intensive development of this type of units led to the creation of the S-100 class (German: Schnellboot S-100). Vessels of this class had a very high marching speed and the maximum, with their size - good seagoing performance, and most of all they were relatively heavily armed. It is worth adding that it was probably the most numerous class of German torpedo boats from 1939-1945. S-100 class torpedo boats operated in many areas: from the Mediterranean, through the Black Sea, to the Baltic and North Seas. It is estimated that in the period 1943-1945 they sank or seriously damaged about 40 enemy ships and about 100 merchant ships.

The Type VII U-boats were German submarines whose construction was initiated in 1936. The length of the Type VII units, depending on the sub-type, ranged from 64.5 m to 77.6 m, width from 5.85 m to 7.3 m, and the underwater displacement - from 725 tons to 1181 tons. The maximum surface speed of the Type VII U-boats was approximately 17 knots, and the maximum underwater speed was approximately 8 knots. The main armament was 5 533 mm torpedo tubes with a total of 11-16 torpedoes carried on board the ship. The secondary armament consists of 1 88mm cannon, 1 20mm anti-aircraft cannon or 1 37mm cannon, and 2 duplicate 20mm cannons on the VII D and VII F.

The Type VII U-boats were the staple of the German weapon in the Battle of the Atlantic and created the series of the most produced submarines in naval history! Several subtypes of this class of ships were created in the course of serial production. Chronologically, the first was the Type VII A, which was created on the basis of the Type III U-boot that dates back to the roots of the First World War. Initially, it had only 4 torpedo tubes, but its design features were very good - for example, it could be submerged very quickly. Another type was the Type VII B, which carried more spare torpedoes and had a smaller turning radius under water. It also had a changed rudder system. The most frequently produced was the Type VII C, which was equipped with active sonar, but also had a greater maximum depth of immersion and in the first versions of this sub-type - a significantly increased range (on the surface up to about 16,300 km). The next version was the Type VII D, which acted as an underwater mine ship. The last one entered service was the Type VII F, which was designed as an underwater torpedo carrier by adding a special section behind the conning tower. However, due to the changes in the realities of combat in the Atlantic and the shortening of the patrol range of other U-boats, the Type VII F was used as an underwater transport. In the period from 1936 to 1945, about 700 submarines of this type were built.

The Z31 was a German destroyer, the keel of which was laid in 1940 and launched in May 1941. The destroyer entered the rope service in the German Navy (German Kriegsmarine) in April 1942. The ship was 127 meters long, 12 meters wide, and had a full displacement of 3,600 tons. Destroyer Z31's maximum speed was 38.5 knots! The main armament at the time of launch was 4 150 mm guns in four single turrets, and the secondary armament was: 4 37 mm cannons, 9 20 mm cannons, and 8 533 mm torpedo tubes and mines.

The Z31 was the ninth of the Narvik or 1936A class, but the first of the Mob. These types of destroyers were an extension of the Type 1936 destroyers. The main changes were to strengthen the armament and replace the main artillery from 127 mm cannons with 150 mm cannons. Sea performance has also been slightly improved and the swimming range has been slightly extended. The result was a series of large destroyers that could, under favorable conditions, engage in combat with Allied light cruisers or French large destroyers. The Mob subtype, on the other hand, had reinforced anti-aircraft armament. Destroyer Z31's combat career began in December 1942, when it was transferred to Norway. He managed to take part in the Battle of the Barents Sea on December 31, 1942. In the years 1943-1944, it served with breaks in Norwegian waters and the North Atlantic. In January 1945, he attempted to break through to the Baltic Sea, but was damaged by British ships and only after repairs made it to the sea in March of the same year. From March to April 1945, he supported the German land forces fighting the advancing Red Army, including in the area of the Polish Tricity. The Z31 survived the war and was handed over to Great Britain, and later France, as a prey, where it was incorporated into that country's navy in 1946 under the name of Marceau. The ship was placed in reserve only in 1953, and scrapped in the early 1960s.
