Mołnia (another name: project 1241.8) is the name of a class of Soviet, and later Russian, missile boats also classified as corvettes. The total length of this type of ship is 57 meters, the overall width is 10 meters, and the displacement is approx. 460 tons. The maximum speed is around 41-43 knots. The deck armament of ships of this class consists of a single 76.2 mm gun, two 30 mm AK-630 sets, and two Uran twin rocket launchers (NATO code: SS-N-25). Project 1241.8 units were created as a development of the previous units of Project 1241. They have - in relation to them - similar sea prowess and performance, but they have much more modern Uranium missiles and adequate electronic equipment for them. It can be assumed that the Uranus rocket was created as an equivalent of the American AGM-84 Harpoon rocket. For this reason, it is sometimes referred to as "Harpoonski". The main task of the units of Project 1241.8 is to counter enemy surface targets.
