The J-1 Prz±¶niczka is a Polish sports plane (also classified as a motor sailplane) with a wooden structure, high wing structure, with a fixed landing gear. The drive was provided by a single engine Saturn 500 with a power of 23 HP, constructed from elements of the MZ 250 motorcycle engine. The plane was flew in 1970. The J-1 Prz±¶niczka is essentially an amateur plane, the work of a Polish engineer Jaros³aw Janowski, who worked on this machine in 1967-1970 in his apartment. Despite the fact that the machine was built in an amateur manner, it turned out to be a successful, safe and easy-to-use sports plane. In 1970, its creator adapted the construction plans to the American aviation regulations, which made it possible to offer the aircraft in the USA in kits for self-assembly. A further development of the J-1 machine was the J-2 Polonez, flown in 1977. Since 2008, one of the Prz±¶niczka copies has been on display at the Aviation Museum in Kraków.
