The Light Tank Mk VI was a British light tank from the interwar period and World War II. The first prototypes were built in 1936, and serial production continued in 1936-1940, ending with the production of about 1250 tanks of this type. The vehicle was powered by a single engine Meadows ESTL or ESTB / A or ESTB / B with 88 KM. The tank was armed with two 12.7 and 7.7 mm Vickers machine guns or two 15 and 7.92 mm Besa machine guns.

The Light Tank Mk VI was created by the Vickers-Armstrong company, as a development of another tank of this concern - the Light Tank Mk V. The changes compared to the original consisted mainly in the redesign of the turret, which now could accommodate the radio station. Minor changes also concerned the suspension system. Four versions of this front were made in the course of serial production. The basic version was the Mk. VI - it was also the first version to be produced on a large scale. The next version was the Mk VI A with a new engine and a changed commander's turret. Shortly thereafter, a version of the Mk VI B entered production with a redesigned commander's turret and a new cooling system. The last version produced on a large scale was the Mk VI C model with changed armament. An anti-aircraft vehicle was also developed based on the chassis of the Mk VI tank Light Tank AA Mk I armed with four 7.92 mm Besa machine guns. Tanks The Mk VI took part in the campaign in France in 1940, in the initial period of the fighting in North Africa (1940-1941), in the course of the fighting in Greece and Crete (1941). From 1941, cars of this type were intensively withdrawn from the line and used for training.
