The F-34 Mod. 1940 cannon is a Soviet 76.2mm tank gun from the Second World War. The first copies were made before the start of the German-Soviet war (1941-1945), but its serial production began in 1941. The gun was the main armament of the T-34/76 medium tank from 1941-1942 and relatively quickly replaced the L-11 and F-32 guns of the same caliber in this role. The F-34 Mod.1940 cannon fired several types of missiles. First of all, it was capable of firing the 6.23 kg F-534 high-explosive shell, as well as the 6.21 kg OF-350 high-explosive shell. It gave these missiles an initial speed of 680 m / s. It also fired the BR-353A anti-tank missile, which was leaving the barrel of the gun at a speed of 662 m / s. Such a missile could penetrate an armor plate with a slope of 90 degrees and a thickness of 71 mm at a distance of 500 meters and 51 mm at a distance of 1000 meters. The BR-350P missiles were also used, which were APCR (Armor Piercing, Composite Rigid) missiles, which reached an initial speed of 965 m / s and was able to penetrate an armor plate at right angles 92 mm thick at a distance of 500 m and a plate 60 mm thick from 1000 meters. Thus, the F-34 cannon was capable of destroying, at a distance of 500-1000 meters, virtually every German tank in the period 1941-1942.
