CMK K7324 Arado Ar 96B/Avia C-2 - Engine set

Argus As 410 is a German aircraft engine from the interwar period and World War II. The first successful start-up of this engine took place in 1938. The weight of the "dry" power unit of this type oscillated around 315 kilograms, and the capacity reached 11.95 liters. The engine had 12 reverse V cylinders, was air-cooled, and was capable of generating a maximum power of 459 hp. The engine was produced at the Argus Motoren plant and was a significant breakthrough in the history of this company, as it marked a shift from the technical solutions used so far in favor of new forms, so far not used in the company on a larger scale. The engine was characterized, among others, by: cylinder heads made of aluminum or a crankshaft made of steel alloys with increased strength. What is equally important, these new solutions allowed the Argus As 410 engine to achieve a good maximum power while maintaining a compact structure and relatively low weight. In total, approximately 28,700 engines of this type were produced. They served as power units for such aircraft as, for example: Arado Ar 96, Focke-Wulf Fw 189 or Henschel Hs 129 A.
