DISCONTINUED AZ-Model 7549 Avro Tutor Mk.I

The Avro 621 Tutor was a British biplane training plane with a metal structure, canvas-covered, with a fixed landing gear from the interwar period and World War II. The drive was provided by a single engine Armstrong-Siddeley Lynx IVC or Lynx IV with power - 240 and 215 hp, respectively. The prototype flight took place in February 1929. Serial production continued in the years 1930-1936, ending with the production of about 600 examples of this aircraft. The machine did not have a permanent armament.

The Avro 621 Tutor was designed as a private initiative of AV Roe and Company Ltd., aimed at creating a new aerobatic training and training aircraft. The first flights of the machine were so successful that the RAF became interested in the project, which placed the first order in the early 1930s. The machine quickly found its way to RAF flight schools, and a little later was also used to train pilots of the British coast defense. The machines served until the outbreak of World War II, when they began to be withdrawn from service. Avro Tutor found its way to several foreign recipients, including China, Greece and Poland.
