The BT-7 "Rocket Tank" is a prototype light tank with added unguided missile launchers from the interwar period. The cart was 5.66 meters long and 2.29 meters wide. The drive was provided by a single 12-cylinder Mikulin M-17T engine with a capacity of 450 HP. The armament consisted of a 45mm cannon and two 132mm rocket launchers.
With the dynamic development of Soviet armor in the 1930s, the concept of creating a "missile tank" was born, capable of providing fire support to unguided missiles of own armored vehicles or infantry. A prototype of the BT-7 armed with just such a weapon was constructed in 1936. The tank retained its main armament (45mm gun), but received two 132mm single missile launchers on the sides of the turret. Interestingly, there were six more shells inside the tank. The horizontal rotation of the launcher provided the rotation of the turret, and in the vertical - a special electric mechanism. However, after passing the tests, the tank was not qualified for mass production.
