The VT-34 was a Czechoslovakian technical support and evacuation tracked vehicle from the Cold War period. The first prototypes of the car were created in the early 1950s - mass production started in the same decade. The car was powered by a single 500hp W-2-34 engine. The total length of the cart was 7.85 meters, with a width of 3 meters. The armament consisted of a single 7.62 mm DT machine gun.
Due to the beginning of the 1950s in Czechoslovakia, the licensed production of the T34 / 85 and SU-100 vehicles, the command of the armed forces of this country saw the need to have an appropriate technical support vehicle. It turned out to be this car VT-34, which - as the name implicitly suggests - was based on many elements of the T-34 tank. The main changes took place in the front part of the fuselage, which included a casemate that housed the crew compartment and the armament of the car. It was also decided to dismantle the tower. There is also a blade at the back of the car. It is worth adding that on the basis of the T-34 a tank intended for the transport of a pontoon bridge was also created, designated as MT-34.
