The Curtiss SOC Seagull is an American, single-engine, biplane reconnaissance seaplane of mixed design from the Second World War. The flight of the prototype took place in April 1934. Mass production continued in 1935-1938. The aircraft was decommissioned in 1945. This machine was the basic reconnaissance and observation aircraft of all American cruisers and battleships during the Second World War. The Pratt-Whitney R-1340 engine with 550 HP was used as the drive. In total, about 320 examples of this aircraft were built.
