STS Dar M³odzie¿y is a Polish, three-masted, frigate-type school sailing ship made of steel. The vessel was launched in 1981. The overall length of the ship is 108.8 meters and the width is 14 meters. The displacement of the vessel is approximately 2,950 tons, and the maximum speed is 16-17 knots. STS Dar M³odzie¿y was designed and constructed as the successor of the school sailing ships STS Lwów and STS Dar Pomorza. Its main task was to train, among others, future officers of the Polish merchant navy - graduates of the Gdynia Maritime University (currently: Gdynia Maritime University). The decision to build it was made in the mid-1970s, and the collection of the fund for its construction officially began in 1978. In the course of its entire service so far, the ship has made over 125 school cruises and visited over 350 ports around the world! In May 2018, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining independence, STS Dar M³odzie¿y set out on a cruise around the world from the port of Gdynia.
