Trumpeter 02801 Eurocopter HH-65A Dolphin (US Coast Guard)

Eurocopter HH-65 Dolphin (formerly: Aerospatiale HH-65 Dolphin) is a modern American French-made search and rescue helicopter. The flight of the prototype took place in 1980, and the machine entered service in 1985. About 100 helicopters of this type were built under production. The drive was originally provided by two engines Lycoming LTS-101-750B-2, and currently Turbomeca Arriel 2C2-CG. The length of the helicopter is 13.5 meters with a main rotor diameter of 11.9 meters. The maximum take-off weight is up to 4,300 kilograms.

The Eurocopter HH-65 Dolphin was developed for the US Coast Guard to replace the Sikorsky HH-52A Sea Guard in service. The machine is a development of the AS365 Dauphin helicopter. Compared to its predecessor, it differs mainly in the use of different engines, different avionics and slightly changed aerodynamic properties. Several versions of the helicopter were developed in the course of production, including: HH-65A (basic version), HH-65B (version with modernized equipment for night flights and navigation equipment) or HH-65C (version with new engines, improved transmission and enriched avionics).
