C4P is a Polish half-track artillery tractor from the interwar period and World War II. The first prototypes of the vehicle were made in 1934, and serial production continued in the period 1935-1939, ending with the production of about 400 examples. The C4P was powered by an engine FIAT-122B with 46 HP. The vehicle did not have any permanent weapons.
Along with the slow motorization and mechanization of the Polish Army at the turn of the 1920s and 1930s, it was decided to increase the mobility of Polish artillery and to use newly developed half-track vehicles in some of its units. In the development of the new vehicle, many components of the Fiat 621 truck produced in Poland were used, and in the track machine, elements from the Vickers E tank and French designs by Citroen and Kegresse were used. Finally, a successful design with good mobility and maneuverability was created, but it is characterized by a lot of fuel chewing and a weak engine. Specialized versions were created on the C4P chassis: a truck, a workshop car and an ambulance. C4P vehicles were used in the September campaign in 1939, but probably none of them survived World War II.
