Masking foil The Focke Wulf Fw 190 D, called by the pilots of both sides "Langnasen Dora", that is the long-nosed Dora, was the quintessence of all the experiences of Kurt Tank's construction team and his most perfect "child". Assembled at the end of August 1944 in the most widely used version of the D-9 and flown on September 7 this year, it has yet to take its toll on both the Eastern and Western fronts. According to various sources, the number of almost 700 machines that have left the Focke Wulf factory in Cottbus and the licensed Arado and Fieseler factories is given. In fact, only the D-9 version, equipped with the Jumo 213A-1 engine, and a very small number of single planes of the D-11, D-12 and D-13 variants with Jumo 213F-1 engines with additional MK 108 and MK 108 guns MG 151/20 located between the engine cylinders.
