Roden 603 Fokker D.VI

The Fokker D.VI is a German mixed-construction biplane fighter from the First World War. The prototype flight took place at the end of 1917, and the machine entered the line at the beginning of 1918. In total, 59 machines were built, 7 of which were transferred to Austria-Hungary. The Fokker D.VI used many components from the Fokker Dr.I and D.VII. The prototypes (designation V.13 / 1 and V.13 / 2) were powered by Oberursel Ur.II (110HP) and Siemens-Halske Sh.III (160HP) rotary engines. The serial planes used the first of these engines. The choice turned out to be not very happy, because in the frontline service, the Fokker D.VI suffered mainly from problems caused by the quality of the engine and its insufficient power. For this reason, it was withdrawn from the line relatively quickly and served as an instructional plane.
