Henry Ford was born in the year of the Battle of Gettysburg, on July 30, 1863, and died in April 1947. He was an American industrialist and the founder of the Ford Motor Company. To this day, he is perceived as one of the most important, not to say key, figures of the American automotive industry in the first half of the 20th century. Henry Ford was interested in mechanics from childhood, and he constructed the first prototype of his car in 1896. The first large-scale car production project involving the former Detroit Automobile Company (later: Cadillac Motor Company), but quickly - as a result of different visions for the company's development - withdrew from this business. However, he still remained in the automotive industry, and in 1907 he made a giant breakthrough, actually revolutionizing the market. It was then that he introduced the famous Ford Model T, which was the first mass-produced car in history. As a result, its price could be significantly reduced over time, which led to a significant increase in the market. A car in the USA, thanks to Ford, is no longer treated as a luxury product. In total, as many as 15 million copies of this vehicle were built. After the production of the T model ended, he launched another successful models on the market, including the A or B and the Ford Model 48. However, with time, with the huge growth of the company, Henry Ford's management methods became anachronistic and led to the loss of market share to mainly General Motors. He was also known for his eminently anti-Semitic views. Henry Ford died on April 7, 1947.
The Ford Model T is an American passenger car from the First World War and the interwar period. The first copies of this vehicle appeared in 1908, and serial production continued in 1908-1927. About 14.68 million cars of this type were created in its course! The vehicle was powered by a single 22.5 HP engine.
The Ford Model T is a true legend of the American automotive industry - it was the car that literally motorized the United States, it was also the first mass-produced passenger car in history on the assembly line. Thanks to the application of this production innovation and its improvement in the 1920s, the average production time of a single Ford T dropped to approx. 90 minutes! As production increased, the price of a single car also fell: from $ 950 in 1909-1910 to $ 360 in 1916-1917. The Ford Model T was a great success for several reasons: first of all, despite being mass-produced, it was made of high-quality components, which translated into its almost legendary durability and reliability. It was also very suitable for driving in moderately rough terrain, and was insanely easy to handle and repair. Its advantages also made it widely used by the American armed forces in 1917-1918 as a light truck, ambulance or reconnaissance vehicle. The last Ford Model T rolled off the assembly line in 1927, and the Ford model was replaced by the A model.
