Set includes two turned brass barrels and etched gun sights. It is very simple to use in Your model, and makes it extremely realistic. Simply cut off the original plastic barrel and drill a hole in the remaining plastic parts and insert the metal barrel using Cyanoacrylate adhesives.
The MG FF is a German 20mm air cannon powered by a WWII drum magazine. The first prototypes of this weapon were made in 1936, and serial production continued in 1937-1943. The magazine of the weapon held from 60 to 90 rounds, and the initial velocity of the projectile - depending on the ammunition used - ranged from 575 to 700 m / s. The weight of the weapon was 26.3 kilograms.
MG FF was developed by the Swiss company Oerlikon, and the license for its production and subsequent modernization was introduced by Ikaria Werke based in Berlin. The cannon had a number of disadvantages - first of all, it provided the shells with a low initial velocity, had an average rate of fire, and was difficult to install on fighters. However, despite these disadvantages, it was widely used in the Luftwaffe and mounted on many types of aircraft, including: Me-109 in versions E and F, FW-190 in versions from A-2 to A-5, Do 271 or He -111. Often, especially after 1943, it was replaced by the MG151 cannon. It is worth adding that the MG FF cannon was one of the main elements of the Schrage-Musik set mounted on the Me-110 aircraft in its night fighter versions.
