Compact static grass applicator, perfect for recreating layers of grass with a detailed and realistic 3D effect. Includes a medium sieve, suitable for 2 mm, 4 mm, and 6 mm lengths of static grass. Power is supplied by a PP3 9 V battery (not included) to electro-magnetically charge the static grass fibres and make them stand up-right on the surface. For the best results, apply static grass using A.MIG-8830 DIO Glue from the AMMO Adhesives range.

A static grass applicator is a tool used in modeling to create realistic grass, vegetation or terrain effects in miniatures. It is also known as a static grass spreader or static grass machine. Its main purpose is to apply static grass in a uniform and controlled manner over a surface.
The process of applying static grass with a static grass applicator generally involves the following steps:

1. Surface preparation: a layer of glue or adhesive is applied to the surface where the static grass is to be applied. This can be on a diorama, base of a figure, scenery on a model train, among others

2. Charging the static grass: The static grass, which consists of fibers of different colors and lengths, is placed in the applicator compartment. This compartment contains a static electric charge that will attract the weed fibers

3. Static weed application: When the applicator is turned on, an electrostatic charge is created which causes the weed fibers to adhere to the previously glued surface. The applicator moves over the surface evenly, and the weed fibers disperse and adhere to the adhesive-covered area

4. Attachment and excess removal: Once the static cling has been applied, it is common to lightly press the surface to ensure that the fibers adhere properly. Excess static cling is then removed by shaking or light brushing to reveal the desired effect.

ADVANTAGES OF USING THE STATIC GRASS APPLICATOR

1. Realistic results: Static grass applied with an applicator can create realistic grass, vegetation and miniature terrain effects, adding authentic detail and texture.

2. Control and precision: Static grass applicators allow precise control over the amount and dispersion pattern of grass fibers, making it easy to create specific effects and reproduce different types of vegetation.

3. Efficiency and speed: Static grass applicators speed up the application process compared to manual methods. This allows for greater efficiency and time savings in creating miniature scenes and landscapes.
