SOVA-M 72008 Handley Page HP137 Jetstream

The Handley Page HP.137 Jetstream was a British low-wing passenger and communication airliner from the post-war period. The machine was first flew in 1967, and its serial production was carried out in 1967-1975. About 70 aircraft of this type were built in its course. The drive was provided by two turboprop engines Turbomeca Astazou XVI C2. The plane was 14.37 meters long with a wingspan of 15.85 meters. The HP.137 Jetstream was developed by Handley Page Limited and Scottish Aviation to provide its manufacturers with financial resources to develop a new, large passenger plane that could compete with the machines of such companies as Hawker Siddeley and British Aerospace. From the beginning, it was assumed that the HP.137 Jetstream would be dedicated to small, civil recipients and would mainly serve local connections - including in the United States. Over time, however, the design was developed and turned out to be also able to act as a light transport aircraft. The HP.137 Jetstream aircraft achieved moderate market success, and on its basis the BAe company, after merging with Scottish Aviation, developed the Jetstream 31 and Jetstream 32 models.
