Ardpol 72-023 Hannover CL.V (Niemcy)

The Hannover CL.V was a German fixed-landing gear biplane fighter from the First World War. The drive was provided by a single BMW IIIa engine with 185 HP. The flight of the prototype took place in 1918 and in the same year mass production began, which led to the creation of about 100-120 copies of this aircraft. The deck armament consisted of three 7.92 mm machine guns.

The Hannover CL.V was created as a development of another fighter from these aviation plants: the CL.II. It differed from its predecessor mainly in the use of a new engine and a different design of the pillars on the wings. These minor changes led to improved performance, especially top speed and climb speed. In the course of relatively short serial production, two versions of this fighter were created: the first had a double horizontal tail (similar to the CL. II machine), the second version had a single horizontal tail. The machine was also licensed in Norway under the name Kjeller FF7 Hauk. After the end of World War I, very small numbers of Hannover CL.V planes were delivered to Polish aviation.
