FineMolds MG6 IJA Type95 or Type97 37mm Tank Gun Barrel

Type 94 (1934) is a 37 mm tank gun from the interwar period and World War II, produced in Japan. The cannon entered service in 1934. The barrel length of this gun was 46.1 calibers, or 170.57 centimeters. Its rate of fire, with a well-trained crew, theoretically reached 10-12 rounds per minute, but in practice it was a very difficult result to achieve. In addition, the Type 95 Ha-Go on which it was mounted was difficult due to the lack of space in the tank turret. The cannon fired two types of ammunition: high-explosive and anti-tank ammunition. When firing the second type of ammunition, the initial velocity of the projectile was up to 580 m / s, and the projectile could cross an armor plate with a thickness of 36 mm at a distance of approx. 300 meters. It is worth adding that the Type 94 (1934) tank gun was not a simple development of the anti-tank gun. A Type 94 (1936) of the same caliber and should not be confused with it. The gun was the main armament of the aforementioned Type 95 Ha-Go tank, among others.
