The Loire 46 is a French high-wing metal fighter plane. It was an attempt to modernize the predecessor number 45, which had poor visibility. The first prototype was flown in September 1934, and already in 1935 60 aircraft of this type were ordered. The drive unit was a Gnome-Rhone 14Kfs engine with 850 hp. Five planes of this type were sent to Republicans in Spain after the outbreak of the civil war. In 1937, these airplanes turned out to be obsolete and were systematically withdrawn from line units and used for training pilots. In September 1939, only 3 such machines were in service. Technical data: length: 7.88 m, wingspan: 11.83 m, height: 4.13 m, maximum speed: 370 km / h, maximum range: 750 km, maximum ceiling 11750 m, armament: fixed - 4 MAC1935 machine guns cal.7, 5mm.
