The LEW Bo24 locomotive is a narrow-gauge electric locomotive from the post-war period. Its length was 7.2 meters and the rows were 1.75 meters wide. The service weight was up to 24 tons. The power was provided by two electric motors with a total power of 120 kW, powered from an external network. The maximum speed of the locomotive was up to 14-15 km / h. LEW Bo24 locomotives were produced in the 1950s in the area of the then GDR - precisely at the Electric Locomotive Works in Henningsdorf. From the beginning, locomotives of this type were designed as narrow-gauge, intended primarily for servicing industrial railway lines in large factories, mines or other heavy industry facilities. Therefore, when designing them, the emphasis was not so much on high maximum speed, but rather the possibility of hauling relatively heavy "rolling stock". Many locomotives of this type were exported, among others, to Poland. In our country, they were operated mainly in Upper Silesia.
