It is true that the American M2 / M3 / M4 / M5 half-tracked transporters used different drive units, but you can risk a statement that the most commonly used was the White 160AX engine. The engine was a 6.33 liter 6-cylinder 4-stroke carburettor gasoline engine with 325 Nm torque and 147 hp maximum power. It had two valves per cylinder and the engine was water-cooled. This engine was, at the very least, reliable, low-temperature capable and, equally importantly, relatively easy to operate. The transporters powered by the White 160AX engine were able to accelerate on the road up to 72 km / h and in the field up to 47 km / h, and the power-to-weight ratio was 16.2 KM / t.
