The Besson MB.411 Petrel was a French low-wing seaplane from the interwar period. The prototype flight took place in 1933, and marginal series production started in the same year. The drive was provided by a single radial motor Salmson 9Nd with 177 hp. The length of the aircraft was 8.25 meters with a wingspan of 12 meters. The plane did not have permanent on-board weapons. ANF-Les Mureaux for the needs of the French Navy (French Marine Nationale). The presented machine was in fact very unusual, because from the very beginning it was designed for use on the Surcouf submarine. When designing the aircraft, a lot of emphasis was placed on its smallest possible size and low curb weight. After a series of tests, only two more airplanes of this type were built - apart from the prototype. One of the production copies remained in France after 1940, and its fate is unknown. The second machine, on the other hand The Besson MB.411 operated from the summer of 1940 to 1941 from the British port of Plymouth until her serious accident in early 1941.
