The Morane-Saulnier 225 is a French, single-engine fighter in the high wing (umbrella) arrangement. As part of the French aviation modernization program, in the early 1930s, a single-seat fighter in the high-wing configuration, designated MS-225, was created. Its design was based on the earlier MS-121 and MS-224 aircraft. The plane had good flight characteristics, was characterized by a solid structure and easy piloting. These advantages determined the commencement of serial production. By the end of 1933. 67 of these aircraft were built. Twelve MS-225 were used by the French naval aviation, 55 were directed to fighter units. As the concept of the fighter was considered obsolete at the turn of 1936/1937, the production was discontinued. After retrofitting the French aviation with more modern types of aircraft, 9 MS-225 formed the well-known Partouille de Dijon aerobatic team. A further development of this type of aircraft were the MS-226 built in the amount of 3 copies and the MS-226 bis, MS-227, MS-275 and MS-278, which did not go beyond the prototype stage. Technical data (MS-225 version): length: 7.25m, wingspan: 10.56m, height: 3.26m, maximum speed: 334km / h, climb speed: 8.77m / s, maximum range: 700km, ceiling maximum 10000m, armament: fixed - 2 Vickers 7.7mm machine guns.
