Trojski Palace (Czech. Trojsky Castle) is a representative building erected in the baroque style in Czech Prague, and more precisely in its district of Troy - hence the palace took its present name. The palace was designed and largely erected under the supervision of Jean-Baptiste Mathey, who was a French architect and painter. Interestingly, however, it is quite commonly accepted that its buildings are more influenced by the Italian baroque than the 17th-century French architecture. The Trojski Palace was erected in the years 1679-1685 for Count Wacław Wojciech of Sternberk, who treated the building as his private. summer residence. The Trojski Palace is one of the pearls of baroque architecture in the Czech Republic, and is also surrounded by a large palace garden with numerous fountains. Currently, the palace is owned by the city of Prague.
