Hirta is a contemporary British (Scottish) patrolman for the protection of Polish fisheries. The keel was laid in 2006, the launch took place in August 2007, and in 2008 the ship was handed over to the shipowner. Its length at the time of launching was 84 meters and a width of 13 meters. The maximum speed is around 18 knots. The hirt was commissioned by the Scottish Fisheries Protection Agency (SFPA) at the Northern Shipyard in Gdańsk, and the vessel's design was made at the Repair Shipyard Design Office. To some extent, the design of the vessel was based on the plans of the Jura. The main task of the Hirta ship is to enforce the rights in British, EU and international fisheries in waters directly surrounding Scotland, but also in the North-East Atlantic. As a result, the autonomy of the vessel reaches 30 days, and its design puts emphasis on relatively high seaworthiness and stability. Hirta - at present - remains in active service.
