KwK37 (full marking: 7.5 cm KwK 37 L / 24 , and the 7.5 cm Kampfwagenkanone 37 L / 24) is a German 75 mm tank gun from the interwar period and World War II. The weight of the gun was up to 490 kilograms, and the length of the gun barrel was 24 calibers, i.e. 180 centimeters. The average rate of fire was up to 15 shots per minute with a very well trained crew, and the maximum range was about 6,200 meters. The presented tank gun was developed primarily as an infantry support weapon, and not as an anti-tank weapon. This main determinant influenced the ballistic parameters of the cannon, as well as the use of a very short barrel. Anyway, its poor ability to combat the enemy's armor was revealed during the battles in France in 1940, and especially during the Barbarossa and Typhoon operations in 1941, carried out in the USSR. The KwK37 cannon fired several types of projectiles, e.g. Panzergranate (PzGr.) 39/1, PzGr. 39/2, but also Sprenggranate 34 (Sprgr. 34). It was the main armament of the Pz.Kpfw. IV in versions from Ausf. And to Ausf. E, Pz.Kpfw. III Ausf. N and SdKfz.233 and SdKfz.234/3 armored vehicles.
