Royal Aircraft Factory BE 12 is a British biplane, single-engine and single-seat aircraft, which is a development of the BE2. The BE 12 was tested in 1915, and the first units received it in August 1916. The tests were carried out in France and after their completion, the prototype was put into serial production. The plane performed numerous tasks during the war, mainly reconnaissance and light bombing, but also a fighter. In June 1917. one of the B.E12 planes shot down a German Zeppelin, which resulted in a series of tests with new weapons for these machines. The BE 12 was built in three versions, differing in wingspan and engine power. A total of 601 BE 12s were produced. Technical data: Maximum speed: 164 km / h, speed of climb: 2.27 m / s, maximum ceiling 3810 m, armament: fixed - 1 Lewis machine gun 7.7 mm, underslung - up to 150 kg of bombs.
