The GAZ-4 is a Soviet military pick-up truck from the interwar period and World War II. The first prototypes of the car appeared in 1933, and its serial production was carried out in the years 1933-1937. The GAZ-4 was developed based on the chassis and many mechanical components of trucks: GAZ-A and GAZ-AA. From the very beginning, only its military use in the Red Army was assumed, which in the 1930s was intensively developing and motorized, and this generated the need for a light transport vehicle, which was supplemented by the GAZ-4. The vehicle was adapted to carry loads weighing up to 500 kilograms and had a two-person driver's cabin. In the Red Army, it was used primarily as a transport vehicle, but also often - for the development of various types of weapon systems. Just before the outbreak of the German-Soviet war in 1941, approximately 550 vehicles of this type remained in service.
