Aber 35L-044 Russian 152,4 mm M-10S tank barrel for KV-II (TAM,TRU)

M-10T is a 152 mm tank howitzer from the interwar period and the Second World War of Soviet production. The length of the barrel was 24.3 calibers, or 369.3 centimeters. The maximum range of the weapon was about 12,400 meters, and the rate of fire ranged from 3 to 4 shots per minute. The initial velocity of the projectile fired from this howitzer was up to 508 m / s. The presented gun was a relatively simple modernization of the M1938 M-10 towed field howitzer of the same caliber. The latter was developed by a team led by Fyodor Fedorovich Petrov and entered production in 1939. Compared to the previous guns of this caliber used in the Red Army, it was a significant step forward in terms of technological advancement. At the same time, however, it entailed an increase in production costs, which - probably! - was the main element that led to the suspension of the production of the M-10 / M-10T howitzers after 1941. The M-10T howitzer was the main armament of the KW-2 tank.
