Leonida Teligi in Szczecin, undertaking the construction of the Polonez yacht, guaranteed a very short construction time (about 6 months), which allowed for a good preparation of the yacht and captain Krzysztof Baranowski - Polish representative - for the 4th Transatlantic Singlehanded Race (Atlantic Loners Regatta). The start in the Regatta was for Capt. Krzysztof Baranowski and the Polonaise very successful, as he took 12th place in a group of over fifty participants. The Polonez was recognized by sailing experts as the most elegant yacht of the 1972 regatta. The same yacht was used by Cpt. Baranowski to sail around the world in 1972-1973.
