Bellanca J-300 Special is an American rally and light transport aircraft in a high-wing, mixed construction, with a fixed undercarriage from the interwar period. The prototype's flight took place in 1933. The machine was powered by a single 220hp Wright Whirlwind engine.
The Bellanca J-300 Special is undoubtedly a unique plane, if only because it was the first plane that came to Poland from the USA directly, by air through the Atlantic. The pilots who took up this unusual challenge were brothers, Polish immigrants living in the USA: Boles³aw and Józef Adamowicz. The machine was purchased by the brothers in 1933, but the first attempt to fly to Poland turned out to be unsuccessful. A year later, in 1934, another was launched - this time successful. Both brothers returned to the United States after this unusual feat, but the machine remained in Poland. From 1937, the Bellanca J-300 Special acted as a transport plane for parachutists. It also took part in the September campaign in 1939, and was later used by the Romanian Air Force.
