SY Spray is an American yacht from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The main material from which the presented unit was made was wood. The SY Spray was 11.2 meters long, with a draft of 1.27 meters and a width of 4.32 meters. The sails area was 94 m2. SY Spray was originally a sloop, which since 1892 has undergone a complete renovation, which at the same time quite significantly changed the size of the masts and the sea properties of the ship, transforming it into a seagoing yacht. SY Spray went down in history with the American sailor of Canadian origin Joshua Slocum, who in the years 1895-1898 was the first one in the history of sailing to circumnavigate the globe alone! This historic voyage began in Boston in April 1895. The cruise route later led, among others, through Gibraltar, Pernambuco, Cape Town to the port of Newport. During the three-year voyage of Joshua Slocum on SY Spray, he covered approximately 46,000 nautical miles. The vessel, along with its owner and captain, disappeared in the Caribbean Sea in 1909.
