The T-40 Nexter 40 CTAS is a French wheeled reconnaissance vehicle from modern times. The drive is provided by a single motor with a power of 284 hp. The T-40 Nexter 40 CTAS vehicle was developed primarily for the needs of the French land forces (fr. Armee de Terre) as a reconnaissance vehicle intended primarily for operations in asymmetric conflicts, but also capable of operating - albeit to a limited extent - in full-scale warfare. When designing it, the emphasis was primarily on the greatest possible maneuverability and the ability to strategic transport. At the same time, however, the vehicle provides its crew members with a good level of cover - for example, the turret has STANAG armor level 4, i.e. it protects against small-caliber firearms with a caliber of up to 14.5 mm and against fragments of artillery shells.
