The Toyota RAV4 is a Japanese crossover passenger car (SUV) that was first presented to the public in 1994. Its serial production started in the same year and continues to this day. It was concentrated, among others, in plants in Tahara and Obu in Japan. The RAV4 model was developed and put into production in order to broaden the commercial offer of Toyota, as well as complement it with the Land Cruiser model. The first RAV4 models were developed on the Toyota Corolla generation 7 platform and used as engines units with a capacity of 2.0 liters and power from 129 to 177 HP. Over time, the range of available engines has expanded, especially in the 2nd and 3rd generation, with engines with a capacity of up to 3.5 liters. Regardless of the production period, the Toyota RAV4 was offered as a 3- or 5-door SUV. The latest, fourth generation, was presented in 2012 and compared to its predecessors is much larger and has, among others: a completely new all-wheel drive. The price of a new car on the Polish market starts at PLN 102,900.
