©vihov Castle is a medieval fortification work located in the Czech Republic, more precisely in the Pilsen region in the southwest of the country. The roots of the castle in ©vihov go back to around 1375, when there are sources confirming its construction. Shortly after its end, the castle survived the siege during the Hussite wars in 1419-1436. Several dozen years after their completion, most likely in the period 1480-1489, it was rebuilt in the late Gothic style. It was then that it obtained its final form, which consists of two imposing residential buildings (sometimes called "palaces"), a tower with a bridge and a castle chapel. The wall also had several smaller towers in the 16th century, but only four of them have survived to our times. ©vihov Castle happily survived both world wars and was nationalized in 1945. Currently, it is recognized as a national cultural monument of the Czech Republic and is open to tourists.
