The Chevron Nederland was a Dutch tanker launched in 1963. The length of the ship was 223.9 meters and a width of 32 meters. The carrying capacity did not exceed 51,000 tons. The drive was provided by the Westinghouse steam turbine and two Foster-Wheeler boilers with a total capacity of 17,000 HP. The maximum speed of the unit did not exceed 16.5-17 knots. The crew most often consisted of 68-70 people. The Chevron Nederland tanker was built and launched at the Belgian Cockerill-Ougree shipyard on the outskirts of Antwerp, and the ship was operated by the Dutch company NPTM. Originally the unit was called Caltex Nederland, but in 1968 the operator-company was transformed into Chevron Tankers BV, which resulted in changing the name to Chevron Nederland. This also entailed a change in the painting of the unit. The tanker Chevron Nederland was a classic example of an oil tanker from the 1960s with the layout of boiler rooms, wheelhouses, etc. typical of this type of ships. The unit remained in service until 1982.
