German naval cannon anti-aircraft gun 3.7 cm SK C / 30 caliber 37 mm was developed in 1930 and entered service in 1934. The initial velocity of the shell fired from this gun was about 950-1000 m / s. The maximum range of this weapon was estimated at approx. 8,500 meters. It is worth adding that the barrel length of this gun was 83 calibers, i.e. 3.074 meters. Sea cannon anti-aircraft gun 3.7 cm SK C / 30 caliber 37 mm was developed as a new lightweight cannon for short and very short air defense. Most often it was mounted in a double version - especially on the larger Kriegsmarine ships. On vessels the size of a torpedo boat or on auxiliary units, a single gun with one barrel on the basis of L. C / 30 was most often mounted. The weapon undoubtedly had high ballistic parameters, but due to the fact that it was semi-automatic and not fully automatic, it did not have the rate of fire sufficient to become a good anti-aircraft weapon.
