The ZiS-8 was a Soviet city and suburban bus from the interwar period and World War II. The vehicle had an overall length of 7.37 meters, a width of 2.3 meters, and a wheelbase of 4.42 meters. It reached a maximum speed of 60 km / h. The drive was a 6-cylinder, 5.6-liter carburettor engine with a maximum power of 73 HP, synchronized with a 4-speed manual gearbox. The design of the ZiS-8 was largely based on the ZiS-5 truck. Both vehicles used the same engine, had the same chassis and many mechanical components. The ZiS-8, however, received a completely new transport compartment made of wood and capable of carrying 21 passengers seated, with 28 seats altogether. Serial production was carried out in the years 1934-1938, and about 550 units of this vehicle were produced during it. It was concentrated in the Moscow ZiS plants (now Zi³).
