The Zlin Z-526 is a modern sports, training and aerobatic aircraft of Czechoslovak (Czech) production in the low wing configuration. The drive - in the Z-526F version - is provided by a single motor Avia M-137A with a maximum power of 180 HP . The first flight of this machine took place in 1959. Serial production began shortly after, which led to the creation of over 1,400 aircraft of this type.
The Z-526 was developed based on the experience gained from the operation of the successful Zlin aircraft: Z-326. The machine took a lot of design solutions from its predecessor, but it had a completely new drive unit and was characterized by a general strengthening of the structure, while maintaining a relatively low weight. In the course of serial production, several development versions of this aircraft were created, for example: Z-526 (basic production series, two-seater version), Z-526A (single-seater version intended primarily for aerobatics), Z-526L (version powered by the Lycoming AEIO engine) 360) or the Z-526AFM (version with the Avia M337 engine).
